Monte Carlo Specifications (1970-1988)

Monte Carlo is a two-door coupe that was manufactured and marketed by Chevrolet from 1970 to 1988. Chevrolet originally created the Monte Carlo as a personal luxury car to compete with the other GM manufacturers already dominating the newly emerging luxury car market. In 1968, Pontiac had the Grand Prix, Buick had the Riviera, and in 1970 Chevrolet had the Monte Carlo. While Monte Carlo was a bit late to the personal luxury car party it went on to become one of the most popular and best-selling models in GM history. This was mostly due to the car’s 116-inch wheelbase which at the time was the best suited Chevrolet model for stock car racing.
