This is an exact reproduction of the original 1970-1972 Monte Carlo quarter panel extension (or drop off) which connects the inside lower rear of the quarter panel to the outside of the trunk. It is recommended to replace this piece when replacing a trunk or a quarter panel. Odds are high your trunk floor extensions (drop offs) will need replacement or repair if your quarter panels and wheelhouses contain rust. It's very common to need all three items since they are all connected. Our trunk floor extensions are direct replacements of originals and feature correct flanges, tabs, holes and bends.
