Rob U’s 1969 Camaro

Built From The Ground Up

Rob U’s 1969 Camaro

Rob found this 1969 Camaro through a friend 15 years ago, instantly being captivated by the pro-street appearance. He has always been into the big tire look on a classic Camaro.

“I was always drawn to pro-street cars and big tires and when I finally found this one after doing a lot of searching, I could not pass it up. ‘69 Camaros were always a favorite of mine growing up.”

Rob

He received the car in essentially the same condition as it sits now, but he says he has restored practically everything on it since acquiring it. The parts that received the most attention during the restoration were the drivetrain.

“The best part of my car is the feeling you get when you drive it. The sound of the motor, the rush of driving a fast hotrod never gets old.”

Rob

This Camaro is powered by a 396/402 big block with an Andy Jensen top end combination, Brodix heads, and a solid roller cam. This configuration nets roughly 600 horsepower to the wheels. It’s paired to a TH400 with a manual reverse valve body prepared by Select Transmissions.

Rob plans to possibly redo the interior and a few cosmetic items throughout the Camaro for the next stage of his build.
