Phil P’s 1968 Nova

Built From The Ground Up

Phil P’s 1968 Nova

Phil had hired a man to do some repairs to his house. One day he was installing a rebuilt carb on his hot rod, and he was having a little trouble adjusting it. Suddenly the repair man unexpectedly poked his head around the corner and asked if Phil wanted some help, which he accepted. Phil listened to his advice, made one adjustment, and presto, it ran great! He asked the repair man if he knew a lot about cars and he responded that he restores them. After talking for a while, he found out that he was moving, and he had several cars for sale. One was a 1968 Nova or Chevy II that was almost complete.

Phil was intrigued and he liked the price that was quoted, but he had to see it before they made a deal. His reaction?… “Wow, no rust, nice build, and the right price! Sold!!!”

The 1968 Nova a Florida based car, 396, 4 speed M21, 12 bolt rear.

This car has received a total restoration. A rebuilt 396 with a thumper cam, 2 1/2-inch headers and stainless exhaust. The transmission is a M21 close ratio shift. The differential has a new Eaton posi-trac and new front suspension (including tubular control arms). It also has 4-wheel disc brakes.

The ‘68 Chevy II is also a COPO Tribute car right down to car right down to the radio, the air conditioning, and the power steering.

It is a terrific build! Phil is happy to have been in the right place at the right time! However, he does have several of these 60’s muscle cars and would like to get another hot rod. His future plans are to sell.

"I had a terrific experience with SS396.com! Their selection and variety are unmatched."

-Phil P.
