Chuck J’s 1970 Chevelle

Built From The Ground Up

Chuck J’s 1970 Chevelle

Chuck’s first new car when he was discharged from Vietnam was a 1967 Chevelle SS. It had a 396 and 4-speed transmission, his first love! Much later in life, 50 years later, he started looking for a real Chevelle SS. It took 3 years, and he found a 1970 Chevelle SS 454 cowl induction and a real LS5. The car sat for years and was a rolling wreck. However, he fell in love, and it was the start of bringing her back to life.

The motor is the original 454 which he completely rebuilt with the bore to 468. Comp thumper Cam balanced Holley fuel injection, and much more. The transmission is the original TH400 modified for 600 HP
with ratchet shift.

This was an off-frame restoration professionally done with a very special metal flake body paint. Hand-painted striping that is perfectly blended into the body paint. The car has so much like Dakota dash 3″, Magnaflow polished cat-back exhaust with 3-1/2 inch collectors, 12 bolt 3-73 rear end with Moser parts.

The 1970 Chevelle was over 80 grand in car parts and many hours. He has car show trophies, 1st place, and people’s choice awards. This car dyno’s over 600 HP has all polished parts under the hood.

He’s planning an overdrive TH200 trans mode near future.

"My professional shop Classic Auto Body who did the body work purchased many of the parts from you and I also continued after they had finished my car."

-Chuck J
