William Armstrong 1974 Monte Carlo

Built From The Ground Up

William Armstrong 1974 Monte Carlo

William was just on his way to get his taxes done when, on his way, he saw this 1974 Monte Carlo on the side of the road. It was in a yard with a for sale sign on it. He decided while heading back home that he would stop to check it out and to see how much it was.

The 1974 Monte Carlo was in good shape and it ran ok too! That was about 18 years ago and the seller wanted $1200 for it.

William rebuilt a 350 bored.030 over with a special cam and roller rockers that he obtained from a friend. Then, another friend gave him a crank with rods and .030 over pistons. He recently put in a 4sd manual transmission and a posi.

Finally, he eliminated the landau (opera) windows and the turn signals. He now has the signal lights in the head lights. He plans to add 4:10 gears and a 5sp manual transmission.

"I’d love to shop more when more for 2nd generation becomes available!"

-William A.
