Jim H’s 1985 Monte Carlo

Built From The Ground Up

Jim H’s 1985 Monte Carlo

Jim purchased this 1985 Monte Carlo from a friend of his after his 1979 Camaro Z28 was rear ended and subsequently totaled. Fortunately, the accident didn’t damage his built drag engine and it could be reused.

He pulled the 383 stroker that was the heart of the Camaro he’d owned for 15 years and transplanted it into his new-to-him 1985 Monte Carlo. A built engine, it makes around 500hp and is paired to an also built TH350 transmission that is prepped for drag racing.

While Jim’s preferred drag car may have been destroyed, he was lucky enough to have his friend help him out with a new chassis that he could swap his running gear into. This enabled him to get back into the thick of things and return to the track in short order after the accident.

In the future Jim would like to build a larger displacement engine for his next drag build, as the 383 is fast at the power level it currently sits at, but he desires more for this sweet 1985 Monte Carlo.

"It was easy and simple just went on the website and found what I was looking for and pleased my order and about 2 to 3 days it was hear nice"

-Jim H
