Built From The Ground Up

Rick A’s 1966 Chevelle SS396

Swapping 396’s. Rick purchased this 1966 Chevelle in September of 2016 and it needed an extensive frame-off restoration, which was completed in May 2019.

All the sheet metal had to be replaced, with the exception of the roof. The 1966 Chevelle Super Sport originally came equipped with a 396/325 horsepower big block, however, Rick pulled this from his and instead dropped a 396 L78 Motor with 425 horsepower!

Coupled to the new power plant sits a M21 Transmission with a Hurst 4-speed shifter, 750 Holley CFM E/choke, Crower Compu-Pro cam, cast pistons 9.5 – 1, Crane roller rockers, 3/8′ push rods, MSD 6AL Ignition with built-in limiter, MSD Pro billet distributor, 3.31 posi-traction rear end, Flowmaster American Thunder stainless steel dual exhaust and stainless steel gas tank.
