Patrick S’s 1966 Chevelle SS396

Built From The Ground Up

Patrick S’s 1966 Chevelle SS396

Some of Patrick’s earliest childhood memories were of the iconic taillights and trim covered pieces on the rear ends of 1966 Chevelles and Malibus.

Patrick’s been looking for a mid-sixties investment for several years but would only settle on something that truly spoke to him. When Patrick came across this 1966 Chevelle Super Sport in Daytona Yellow at a local auction it was yelling at him saying;

“Here I am, you had better take me home right now!”

The car was mostly original and fresh out of a frame-off rotisserie when he came across it, SS396-350 horsepower Chevelle with a rare Factory A/C. Ground Up SS396.com has been able to help Patrick out with some finishing touches and fixes for some of the “boo boos” on Patrick’s prized Chevelle. Patrick says;

“I’m very glad to have met a vendor that specializes in hard to find parts for these cherished pieces of Americana!”

Here are the specs on Patrick’s 1966 Chevelle:

  • 1966 Original 138 VIN Super Sport Car
  • SS396 – 360 HP Chevelle Super Sport with rare Factory A/C
  • Tremec 5-Speed w/ 4:10 Posi Trac rear axle
  • Frame-off Rotisserie Restoration, done in 2016
  • Painted 1969 Corvette Daytona Yellow
