Mike has been building this 1969 Chevelle for over 14 years!
What makes that statement even better? He’s had the car driving for most of that time.
To keep things interesting over the years Mike swaps out the motors from time to time. He’s gone from a 396 to 454, to 496 and now (maybe finally) to a 572 GM tall deck crate motor with 620-650 hp.
Mike’s 1969 Chevelle is also equipped with a 1050 AED carburetor, MSD ignition, painless wiring, lemons custom headers, and a Pypes 3 inch exhaust. To make the most out of all those horses mike has upgraded to a Moser 12 bolt rear, Wilwood brakes on all four corners, and Weld wheels wrapped with Micky Thompson tires. To say the least, this 1969 Chevelle has the best of everything that Mike wanted in a car.
On the exterior, Mike’s Chevelle is finished in a stunning super black MIPA paint and clear coat. This work was completed by the guys at Dave Voss Hot Rods in New York. To get this super black looking flawless, the guys at Dave Voss Hot Rods spent months perfecting bodywork of this ’69 Chevelle. Mike says;

Mike has replaced nearly every body panel on this 1969 Chevelle except for the roof panel from Ground Up SS396.com. Other notable additions from Ground Up on Mike’s 1969 Chevelle include a 4-inch cowl hood, new moldings and trim, new bumpers, new emblems, and a deep window tint to go with the super-black paint.
The entire interior is brand new and all from Ground Up SS396.com! This includes pro-car seats, door panels, dash pad, dash carrier, headliner, ACC carpet, kick panels, steering column and sport steering wheel, and dash trim. Adding safety to this 620-650 horsepower machine is an 8-point roll cage also finished in black, a 5-point racing harness, and a fire extinguisher at Mike’s side. Mike says;

Mike had the time to complete this project, like many others, due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Luckily for Mike, he had all the parts he needed and now the time needed to put it all back together! With the 1969 Chevelle now finished Mike plans on enjoying it throughout the summer and hopes car shows will begin kicking off soon.
