Jeff W picked up this Chateau Slate 1966 Chevelle SS396 back in 1991 when a friend tipped him off about a Chevelle possibly for sale nearby. A deal was made with the original owner’s brother and this ’66 became Jeff’s first Chevelle of many over the years.
He enjoyed it as it was for a little while during the ‘90s and then parked it for a number of years. Fast forward to 2008, when he began the full frame off restoration which was completed in 2013.
Luckily, this ’66 Chevelle retained the original numbers matching 396/325hp big block and original PowerGlide transmission, but much of the rest of the Chevelle was in rough shape and needed replacing.
After the restoration was completed Jeff began taking it to local car shows, where it received several Best of Show, First and Second place awards amongst stiff competition. He plans to continue showing the car and enjoying the fruits of his labor with his very first Chevelle.
