Gary S’s 1977 El Camino

Built From The Ground Up

Gary S’s 1977 El Camino

Gary is a big fan of the 1973-1977 El Camino generation, so when he found this 1977 GMC Sprint in Las Vegas, it was love at first sight.

“There was no hesitation or doubt that this was the one I wanted.”

Gary

Living in California, it would have to be brought into compliance with the California SMOG standards, and this Sprint came with 1982 Camaro running gear installed. After an arduous process, he met the standards and it is road legal.

Once it becomes eligible for SMOG exemption, he would prefer to switch out the engine and transmission for something that packs more of a punch.

“I’d like to have two black lines chasing me down the street.”

Gary
