10th Annual Ground Up Car Show 2014
It was another excellent show with over 300 beautifully restored, high performance, and customized cars that made their way to our facility in Naugatuck, CT for the 10th Annual Ground Up Car Show on Sunday, July 13th. The show didn’t officially start until 8:00 am, but muscle cars, street rods, classics, trucks, race cars, and everything in between started lining up at the gates around 7:15.
Ground Up teamed with the The United Way of Naugatuck and Beacon Falls to once again close down the entire street for a day of awesome cars ,and fun! All cars entering the show received a goody bag stuffed with a ton of free loot. Even in these hard economic times, Ground Up received more support from vendors than any previous year in the form of raffle items, certificates, and other promotional items showing that the classic car community is still as alive as ever. Just about everyone left the show with something good!
By mid morning the sun started to break through the clouds and 200 cars had already started to fill up the street, and parking lots. There was plenty to see, many of our vendors were on hand to answer questions, and provide information. Pizzeria Napoletana provided the food, and thePhil’s and Tom’s Vintage 60’s Ice Cream truck was here to help everyone stay cool. With the sun finally shining, and the DJ playing the oldies, things really started to get into high gear.
In addition to the amazing, and diverse selection of participant show cars, Ground Up’s own fleet was on display in front of the building. This included a small army of Chevelles, Camaros, and Novas!
Judging started at 11:00 am with 24 different classes including Best Camaro, Best Chevelle, Best Nova, and a Top Ten class. At the end of the day, Ground Up and the United Way were able to collect over $4,500 for local charity.
This year’s car show was a great success as always!
