SS396.com Truck Freight Shipping Information
Products online and in our print catalogs that are required to ship via truck freight are usually indicated below the product listing on both SS396.com and in our print catalogs. There may be items listed online and in our catalog that are not indicated as truck freight but require to ship via this method.
This notice indicates that the product is too large for standard ground delivery and must be shipped by truck freight. These items must be pre-paid in advance (including freight charges) before the shipment can leave our warehouse. Truck Freight rates could be higher depending on what is being ordered and the final destination.
Due to the nature of truck freight orders, it’s not possible to calculate the live rate on SS396.com. If you place an order online that requires to ship via truck freight you will only be charged for the items on your order and not shipping. When the order is processed we will get the best rate available for shipping and send you a final quote that includes shipping charges. The order and original pending charge will remain on hold until you, the customer, confirms and pays for the final total including shipping charges. If you decide to cancel the order the pending charge will return to your payment method in 3-5 business days. If you need this process expedited please contact us directly.
Please Note: Truck freight items will be shipped using the carrier service of our choice.
Valid Truck Freight Addresses
Ground Up Motors – ss396.com recommends truck freight shipments to be sent to a valid commercial address. If an address is not deemed to be a commercial address by the delivery carrier, additional charges may apply. Any and all additional charges are the responsibility of the customer to pay. Please include a commercial business address whenever possible.
If a commercial address is not available we can truck freight your order to the closest terminal of your destination city where you can arrange pick-up. For additional information on this option contact our customer service department during regular business hours.
What is a Commercial Address?
Commercial addresses are those defined by our freight carriers as commercial sites. Typically these addresses are zoned as commercial real estate. Most commercial sites have tractor-trailer access and a loading dock.
Damages & Shortages
Truck Freight Damages
It is essential to check the contents of your delivery in the presence of the carrier. Do not allow the delivery person to leave before inspecting your shipment. If there is any damage, it is crucial to note it on the Bill of Lading. In cases where the damage is irreparable, it is recommended to refuse the shipment as Damaged. Please note, the Bill of Lading is a legal document, and by accepting the shipment and signing the Bill of Lading without inspecting the items, there is no recourse with the carrier if the goods are later found to be damaged. If any items are found to be damaged during delivery and are noted on the Bill of Lading or refused, please notify our customer service department immediately. This will enable Ground Up Motors – SS396.com to take necessary steps to ensure a prompt replacement or adjustment for the damaged goods.
Truck Freight Shortages
