SS396.com Truck Freight Shipping Information
Products online and in our print catalogs that are required to ship via truck freight are usually indicated below the product listing on both SS396.com and in our print catalogs. There may be items listed online and in our catalog that are not indicated as truck freight but require to ship via this method.
This notice indicates that the product is too large for standard ground delivery and must be shipped by truck freight. These items must be pre-paid in advance (including freight charges) before the shipment can leave our warehouse. Truck Freight rates could be higher depending on what is being ordered and the final destination.
Due to the nature of truck freight orders, it’s not possible to calculate the live rate on SS396.com. If you place an order online that requires to ship via truck freight you will only be charged for the items on your order and not shipping. When the order is processed we will get the best rate available for shipping and send you a final quote that includes shipping charges. The order and original pending charge will remain on hold until you, the customer, confirms and pays for the final total including shipping charges. If you decide to cancel the order the pending charge will return to your payment method in 3-5 business days. If you need this process expedited please contact us directly.
Please Note: Truck freight items will be shipped using the carrier service of our choice.
Valid Truck Freight Addresses
Ground Up, Inc. SS396.com recommends truck freight shipments to be sent to a valid commercial address. If an address is not deemed to be a commercial address by the delivery carrier, additional charges may apply. Any and all additional charges are the responsibility of the customer to pay. Please include a commercial business address whenever possible.
If a commercial address is not available we can truck freight your order to the closest terminal of your destination city where you can arrange pick-up. For additional information on this option contact our customer service department during regular business hours.
What is a Commercial Address?
Commercial addresses are those defined by our freight carriers as commercial sites. Typically these addresses are zoned as commercial real estate. Most commercial sites have tractor-trailer access and a loading dock.
Damages & Shortages
Truck Freight Damages
You must check the contents of your shipment in the presence of the person delivering the merchandise. Do not allow the delivery person to leave before checking your shipment. Should any damage occur, you must note the damage on the “bill of lading”. If the damage is beyond repair refuse the shipment! If you accept the shipment and sign the bill of lading stating that the items have been received in good condition and damages are later discovered, there is no recourse with the carrier. The bill of lading is a binding legal document.
If items are discovered to be damaged at the time of delivery and noted on the bill of lading, it is your choice to refuse or accept the damaged parts. Immediately notify the Ground Up, Inc. SS396.com customer service department so that all necessary steps will be taken to ensure a prompt replacement or adjustment of any damaged goods.
Truck Freight Shortages
Always check the contents of your delivery to assure all the parts ordered were received. Ground Up, Inc. SS396.com always recommends you to check the contents of your shipment in the presence of the person delivering the merchandise if possible. If you are missing any item(s) be sure to check for any backorders which are notated on your invoice before calling our customer service department. For more information on backorders click here.
If a shortage has occurred, contact our customer service department within 2 business days of delivery to assure a prompt replacement. Ground Up, Inc. SS396.com assumes no liability after this period.
