Jim R’s 1970 Chevelle SS454

Built From The Ground Up

Jim R’s 1970 Chevelle SS454

This unrestored 1970 Chevelle SS454 first came into Jim’s hands when he located it in Hemmings Motor News back in 1986.

He is the second owner, and this particular car was a special order with Monaco Orange (ZP3) paint. Not only is the paint still original, but this was also originally a stripe delete car with functional cowl hood. Stripes were added to the 1970 Chevelle later in its life.

It is of course powered by the legendary LS6 454 with 450 rated horsepower, paired to the “rock crusher” M22 Muncie 4 speed.

“What makes this car special is the special ordered orange paint and the whine of the M-22 4 speed, car wouldn’t be the same without it.”

Jim

Jim plans to keep it as is, unrestored and in great condition. He is especially proud of it being featured on a metal sign, which reads “Chevelle SS 454, king of the muscle cars”.
