James M’s 1967 Chevelle

Built From The Ground Up

James M’s 1967 Chevelle

After some abrupt life changes James went looking for a project that he could do with his son. Then he came across this 1967 Chevelle Malibu.

It was rough but mostly complete. Heavy sheet metal work was needed on quarter panels and the trunk was more or less gone. Fortunately, the previous owner had already redone the interior which is now white. He had also freshened up the drive line.

After referencing the vin, James knew this was an original straight 6 sport coupe. It currently has a 327 4bbl 750cfm Edelbrock mild cam. with a 2-speed power glide transmission.

It was wearing 396 SS badges when James bought it and he decided to keep them.

After 4 years of on and off work he sprayed the car in an electric candy purple color that’s under 4 coats of glamour clear. He blocked it out with 3000# and polished it up to a deep shine.

James states that what’s special about this car is the time spent bringing her back to life with his son.

He plans to add a BB transplant and suspension upgrades down the line a bit but for now James will just enjoy it as it is.

"When it came time to assemble, I found that ground up had most everything I needed in stock and shipped quickly."

-James M.
