Art P’s 1969 Chevelle

Built From The Ground Up

Art P’s 1969 Chevelle

Art had a similar 1969 Chevelle in the late 70’s. He sold it to buy a home and start a family. Years later he found this car two blocks away from his home.

It was a two owner car bought and sold originally in Richmond BC. Art is the third owner. When he bought it there was 83,578 miles on the odometer. It was all original, down to the paint. Art spent the first summer driving the way it was. Then, the following fall, he started to restore the body work.

The Chevelle has a numbers matching 350, 300hp L-48. With 4 bolt mains and a Rochester 4 barrel. The transmission is a Turbo 350, and the rear is a 12 bolt with 2:73 gears and an open diff (which Art would like to upgrade to a 3:08 posi). The car has disc brakes up front and drums out back.

The Chevelle is painted Fathom Green. It has a black vinyl roof, a dark green interior with bucket seats and a console shift. It was built at the Oshawa Ontario, Canada GM factory in Feb 1969.
