Mike S’s 1970 Chevelle

Built From The Ground Up

Mike S’s 1970 Chevelle

Mike bought his 1970 Chevelle in 1988 after he had spent years patiently searching for a number matching SS. The car was originally sold new at a local Chevrolet dealer in Cincinnati, Ohio and would stay in the region it’s entire life!

He would drive the car for a few years before doing a complete frame off restoration. The 1970 Chevelle was completely restored in 1994 and has been driven very little since then. Mike only drives it when commuting to car shows and cruise-ins. He did all the body work and paint on the car. He had a friend rebuild the engine and rear end. He also had an upholstery shop do the interior.

The engine is the original number matching L34 396 350 horsepower. The transmission is the original Muncie M20 4 speed. It even has the original Muncie shifter! The rear end gears are 331.

The car is unique because it’s a factory 4 speed bench seat car with the factory AM 8 track stereo.

Mike plans on keeping the car and turning it over to his son sometime in the future. He also plans on keeping the car stock.

"I would recommend to anybody. I ordered a new radiator and had to wait for it to ship from the manufacturer, it was made in the USA so well worth the wait."

-Mike S.
