Danny W’s 1969 Chevelle

Built From The Ground Up

Danny W’s 1969 Chevelle

Danny’s father bought this 1969 Chevelle for him new in October of 1968.

He was 16 at the time.

He sold the car in 1972, and 7 years later, he bought it back. The engine and transmission were gone. Luckily he found a wrecked 1969 Chevelle to get those out of.

He did an on the frame restoration, and 5 years later, he sold in again. In October of this year, 2021, he was able to buy it back, again. He is now 69 years old. It had been sitting in a block building since 1988. The paint is really cracked and faded but virtually no rust. Except for the engine, transmission, exhaust, and air cleaner the car is bone stock.

He is torn between painting it or leaving it as is. At the only car show he has been able to take it to, everyone said don’t paint it. He has replaced quite a lot of small parts purchased from Ground Up. So far shocks, interior parts, and some underhood things that needed to be replaced.

It has the Walnut steering wheel which he understands was replaced by the Rosewood wheel later in production. He’s planning to take it to every car show possible and may repaint someday.

"Your buying experience for me has been excellent."
