Ron S’s 1968 Camaro SS396

Ron S’s 1968 Camaro SS396

Ron bought this 1968 Camaro SS after he retired in 2017. He previously owned a 1967 Camaro but sold it 39 years prior, so he felt it was time to have another.

He was originally looking to find a 1969 SS, but he couldn’t pass up on this 1968 because it was that good. In terms of the modifications and styling, he did not have anything specific in mind aside from just making it what he liked. Ron’s Camaro is equipped with a 454 big block bored .070 over to 469ci. Behind it sits a TH400 with a Howards 3500 RPM stall converter.

Ron enjoys taking his Camaro to various car shows. So far, he and the family hit an average of 40 to 50 shows a year. One of his favorite aspects of these shows is simply meeting and talking to other classic car owners.

In the near future Ron plans to get a new paint job for the Camaro. Turning his attention to the interior, a TMI one piece molded headliner is on the horizon as well.
