Steven C’s 1970 Chevelle

Built From The Ground Up

Steven C’s 1970 Chevelle

After a motorcycle crash in 2016, Steven knew it was time to switch gears into something else, and he chose a 1970 Chevelle. Appropriate, as it was always his dream to own and build one.

That dream is still a work in progress, but Steven is slowly but surely making the 1970 Chevelle everything he could want. It currently has a 454 big block with an Edelbrock top end kit as the power plant. His intention was to keep a mostly stock looking big block and build around that.

“Maintaining a fairly stock appearing ‘70 Chevelle from the outside with updated power and handling underneath… has always been a big priority.”

Steven

The suspension has been upgraded to BMR tubular arms all the way around front to rear. The rear end is a Currie Enterprises built 12 bolt unit, which should be more than enough to handle the extra power. Eventually, he plans to upgrade from the original M21 Muncie 4 speed transmission to a modern T56 Magnum transmission.

He is currently in the process of converting the fuel system to a Holley Super Sniper EFI unit, which is fed by a full Aeromotive Stealth fuel system. Future plans for the 1970 Chevelle include the possibility of a centrifugal supercharger and updating the interior to a fully custom TMI Products setup.

Steven says that due to the wide array of parts availability and over the phone support, he’s been able to more easily progress towards achieving his goals thanks to Ground Up SS396.com.

"Wide array of parts availability and over the phone customer support."
