Richard S’s 1970 Chevelle SS454 LS5

Built From The Ground Up

Richard S’s 1970 Chevelle SS454 LS5

This 1970 Chevelle SS is an authentic SS454 which retains it’s LS5 big block and M22 Rock Crusher 4-speed transmission. Richard Stanley purchased this prime example from a Texas dealership in 2019, and subsequently learned that Patrick Glenn Nicholas of Musclecar Barn Finds had rescued it in the recent past, lending to its documentation and authenticity.

“It’s special to me because of the documentation and authenticity of the car and I love driving it every chance I get between the 454 with the larger-than-stock cam and the rock crusher whine it’s a blast to drive.”

Richard S

Richard has mostly serviced wear items such as suspension components and weatherstripping to give this 1970 Chevelle a much-deserved refresh while still maintaining the stock character. He intends to update to modern suspension and braking technology in the future, along with preemptively addressing concerns with the original wiring.
