1981 Malibu Restoration Information

1981 Malibu Specifications

Image: Car Domain

For 1981, the Malibu was transitioned over to the rear-wheel-drive G-body platform, which was the base of other GM cars such as the Pontiac Grand Prix and Buick Regal.

Other than the platform change, the Malibu remained virtually the same model as the year before.
