Classic Update complete wiring kits are made for the restoration enthusiast who wants some modern amenities in their classic vehicle. These kits include everything you need to modernize your classic vehicle: Headlight, Dimmer, and Ignition Switches; Boots, Tubes, and Grommets; Fuses, Relays, and Flashers; Original Connectors, Terminals, and Disconnects. The replacement headlight switch includes an internal 30 amp circuit breaker, a retention collar nut, adjustable length shaft, and custom knob. A standard turn signal flasher, hazard flasher, and horn relay are mounted on the fuse panel. The fuse box is designed to fit in the original location, with all required hardware supplied. A new ATO fuse allows for easy fuse and circuit breaker accessibility. The harness is laid out and formed to support nearly all aftermarket accessories such as gauge packages, wiper systems, heat and air conditioning systems, etc. Original switch connector bodies are included, exclusively from American Autowire. Steering column connectors plug directly into most aftermarket steering columns as well as 1970?73 and later GM columns that use stock GM turn signal switches. The original column can also be wired using the supplied mating connector and terminals. Along with wiring for original dome/interior lighting, separate under-dash light sockets are also included. Instrument cluster wiring is designed with a "cluster harness disconnect" system for easy service and assembly. All original terminals, connectors (exclusively from American Autowire), and light sockets are supplied for original cluster gauges. This system also allows easy wiring for any aftermarket gauge cluster package, including Autometer, Classic Instruments, Dakota Digital, Stewart Warner, and VDO. The rear body harness assembly plugs into the main harness using original connector bodies. The design allows for original or custom routing. Rear body wiring includes backup light wires and mating connectors, license plate lead, connectors, and terminals, as well as a fuel tank sender wire and terminal. All original-style light socket pigtails are included, making this the most complete system of its type in the industry. A new floor dimmer switch is provided, with wire length and connections to accommodate original floor mount dimmer switches. The original bulkhead connector for the engine and front light wiring is included and ready for installation, allowing original routing of the new harness without body modifications.
