Policies

Order Instructions

Simply phone, FAX, mail or Shop Online at GROUND UP. Inc. ("GROUND UP") restorations for Chevelle parts, Camaro parts, Nova parts, and El Camino Parts. Experienced classic parts specialists will handle your order and provide assistance. Be sure to supply us with our item numbers and your vehicle description for fast order processing. Some items are ordered by description alone (i.e., upholstery) in which case we'll need the year, color and body style of your car. Phone orders may be paid by VISA, Master Card or Discover. Mail orders may be paid by VISA, Master Card, Discover, money order, or cashiers check. Personal check may delay your order 2 weeks.

Sales Tax Information

Orders shipped outside of Connecticut may be exempt from sales tax. Connecticut residents are required to add the appropriate current sales tax. Due to regular variations in Connecticut sales tax, rates are subject to change without notice. Connecticut orders are subject to tax, this additional tax will be applied to the invoice. As of 2020, the current Connecticut tax rate is 6.35%.

Damage Claims - Ground Packages

After receiving your items, always check the contents of your shipment. We strongly recommend checking the contents in the presence of the person delivering the merchandise whenever possible. In the unlikely event of damage during transit to your items, notify GROUND UP during business hours at: 1-866-358-2277 within two (2) business days of receiving your items to ensure a prompt replacement of damaged goods. Accurate instructions will be given on damaged goods replacement.

GROUND UP is NOT responsible for damages if notification is not given within two business days of receipt of goods (excluding Sundays and holidays). In most cases, GROUND UP will file a claim with the shipping carrier. GROUND UP will not be held responsible for replacing damaged products and the customer will be responsible to pay for any replacements until the carrier has paid the claim. Please follow these instructions to avoid any problems or miscommunication associated with damaged products and freight claims.

Damage Claims - Truck Freight

You MUST check the contents of your shipment in the presence of the person delivering the merchandise. DO NOT ALLOW THE DELIVERY PERSON TO LEAVE PRIOR TO CHECKING YOUR SHIPMENT. Should any damage occur, YOU MUST NOTE THE DAMAGE ON THE "BILL OF LADING". If the damage is beyond repair- REFUSE THE SHIPMENT! The Bill of Lading is a legal document. If you accept the shipment and sign the Bill of Lading stating that the items have been received in good condition and damages are later discovered, THERE IS NO RECOURSE WITH THE CARRIER.

If items are discovered to be damaged at time of delivery and noted on the Bill of Lading, refuse or accept as damaged noting the specific damage on Bill of Lading. Immediately notify GROUND UP customer service dept. so that all steps necessary will be taken to ensure a prompt replacement or adjustment of any damaged goods

Shortages

Always check the contents of your delivery to assure all the parts ordered were received. If you are missing any item(s) be sure to check for back orders notated on your invoice before calling our customer service department (see back orders). If a shortage has occurred, contact our customer service department within 2 days of delivery to assure a prompt replacement. GROUND UP assumes no liability after this period.

Returns

Products may be returned for a full refund, credit or exchange within 30 days of receipt. Products returned after 120 days can only be returned for store credit. All returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee after 30 days. Should you need to return a part for refund, exchange or credit, please contact our customer service department for a return authorization number and instructions. GROUND UP will not accept returned goods without prior authorization. Customer will pay freight on all return orders. Important: Gift certificates have no cash value and must be redeemed for merchandise only. Literature, CDs, videos, printed materials, stencil kits, stripe, electrical parts, gauges, wiring harnesses, switches, etc. are non-returnable. All special order products prepaid in full and are non-returnable. There is no guarantee on moving parts such as engines, transmissions, rear ends, steering gears, water pumps, distributors, wiper motors, etc. If any product is modified, altered, painted, installed or disassembled in any way, without express written permission, the item is non-returnable. This includes rims that have been mounted. GROUND UP always recommends professional installation on all products. Any item which has been altered, painted, installed or deemed non-resalable by GROUND UP will be returned to the customer at the customer's expense. GROUND UP is not responsible or liable for labor fees associated with the installation, removal, modification or repair of any product purchased regardless of the circumstances. GROUND UP is not responsible for any damage or discoloration incurred in relation to chemical products including cleaners, waxes, polishes, paints, etc.

Rights and Lefts

Some items in this catalog are presented as right or left hand products. (Right side-passenger) (Left side-drivers). Right hand or left hand sides are determined by sitting in the vehicle, not standing in front of the vehicle.

Color Matches

Due to multiple manufacturers of products GROUND UP provides, color variations may occur. Slight color variations are common especially amongst interior products and does not constitute a defect. These products are not eligible for return for this reason.

Due to variances among computer monitors the colors that appear on your screen may differ slightly from the actual color of the product. If exact color matching on interior items is a concern, please request fee samples prior to ordering. Returns on colored interior items will be subject to a restocking fee.

Kit Products

All GROUND UP Parts and Accessories catalogs include kits which contain a variety of products. On occasion we may run out of an item supplied with a kit. If this happens we will generally ship what is in stock and back order the item(s) which are not in stock. You may contact our sales department by phone to verify which items are not in stock at the time the order is placed. The customer may decide whether to accept the partial kit or have the entire kit back ordered until the kit is completed and all the items can be shipped at the same time. If the customer decides to accept partial delivery of the kit, then the full price of the kit will be charged to the customer and the back ordered items will be shipped no charge when they arrive at our warehouse. Customers will be charged the appropriate freight fees when applicable. Cancellation of products from a kit will be accepted at 25% below the actual current retail price of the item.

Refusals

All refused orders will be subject to a 25% restocking fee. GROUND UP will consider the entire order cancelled and void with no notification to the customer. The customer will be billed 25% plus all freight charges to and from the destination. Contact our customer service department for more information.

Product Availability

Availability of all items on SS396.com and in the catalogs are subject to change without notice. GROUND UP reserves the right to discontinue products, services or accessories, and/or substitute products of a similar nature (i.e. different manufactures) without notice.

Pricing

GROUND UP makes every effort to honor the prices contained herein. However, due to increased costs of manufacturing, materials, etc., prices can change. We reserve the right to change prices without notice. For current pricing please visit our web site, or contact a GROUND UP sales representative during normal business hours.

Back Orders

The invoice located in the packing slip of your order will notate any items that were out of stock at the time of shipping. The unavailable items will be back ordered unless otherwise specified on your order form or verbally to a sales representative when placing your order by phone. Back orders are usually shipped when the products arrive at our warehouse without prior notification. GROUND UP will make an effort to contact the customer if the backorder is more than 90 days old. If you wish to cancel a back order, please notify our customer service department immediately. The customer will be responsible for a 25% restocking fee and freight charges if the back order is cancelled or returned after the items are shipped.

Alaska, Hawaii & Puerto Rico

All Alaskan, Hawaiian and Puerto Rico orders are shipped via 2 day air delivery whenever possible. All orders must be pre-paid with credit card, money order, or check. No COD orders are accepted. Rates depend on the items being ordered. Contact our sales department for exact rates.

APO/FPO

Parcel post is the only means of shipping to an APO or FPO address. Due to size restrictions the maximum shipping box can be no larger than 72" width and girth combined. All military personnel must write or call to determine what size box will be used for the shipment. Once this is determined, GROUND UP will call or write to let you know if the order can be shipped by parcel post and the correct amount required. All orders that exceed these limitations will be shipped in accordance with customer approval.

Insurance

Each order is charged an insurance fee of $1.50. This fee will insure the entire order and protect you completely from damages or loss. The order forms located in the rear of this catalog include this fee in the indicated column when your order is being totaled.

Credit Card Processing

As with many other merchants, GROUND UP places an authorization hold on your payment card account for the approximate amount of your purchase, plus shipping and applicable taxes. If you check your online statement, you may see such authorizations under pending transactions. These authorizations are not actual charges but are to confirm that your payment card account is active and has available funds to complete your transaction.

In the case of Debit Cards, authorization holds should come off once the transaction clears but could take 1-5 days depending on your bank's policy. This could pose a problem if your transaction clears and the bank does not drop the hold on your account, resulting in you not having access to those funds until your bank drops the hold. Normally, this is not a problem with Credit Cards. Please check with your financial institution for their authorization policy prior to making a purchase with your Debit Card.

Standard Shipping & Handling Rates:

Shipping charges are based on actual shipping rates from UPS.

Oversized and Truck Freight* Orders: Shipping rates for online orders containing Oversized or Truck Freight items will be calculated once your order is received. A representative will contact you regarding shipping costs before your order is fully processed and shipped.

*Please provide a commercial ship to address for truck freight items.

International Orders: All orders shipping outside of the United States will be shipped via UPS International Economy. The shipping charge will include clearing and brokerage fees. The customer will only need to pay duties and taxes at the border. Orders shipped via International Economy usually arrive in 2 to 5 business days after shipping.

After an order is placed, you will be emailed an international order quote within 72 hours notifying you of the shipping cost estimate.

Oversize and Overweight Parts

All items which are considered "OS" (oversize) are items that can be shipped via ground, however at an oversize rate indicating a minimum fee of 30 lbs. or 70 lbs. depending on the item. Boxes shipped that are 84"-108" width and girth are considered single oversize items and are charged at a minimum rate of 30 lbs. per box. Double oversize boxes are over 108"-130" width and girth and are charged at a rate of 70 lbs. Single or double oversize items which weigh more than the minimum weight will be charged in accordance with their actual weight. There may be products listed in this catalog which are oversized but are not indicated as such. We reserve the right to charge an O/S fee on any order which contains a product that is oversized even though it may not be indicated.

Truck Freight

Products in this catalog that require truck freight are usually indicated below the product "must be shipped via truck freight". This indicates that the product is too large for ground delivery and must be shipped by motor freight. There may be items listed herein that are not indicated as truck freight. These items must be pre-paid in advance including freight charges before the shipment can be sent. GROUND UP requires a minimum fee for all out of state truck shipments, prices vary by location. Truck Freight rates could be higher depending on what is being ordered and the destination.

GROUND UP requires truck shipments to be sent to valid commercial address. Residential deliveries can require additional charges, these charges are the responsibility of the customer and prices may vary. Please include a commercial business address whenever possible. If a commercial address is not available we can truck freight to the closest terminal of your destination city where you can arrange pick-up. (See Truck Freight Damage Claims for details). If an address is not deemed to be a commercial address by the delivering carrier, additional charges may apply. These charges are the responsibility of the customer. 3 Day Select Delivery

GROUND UP offers 3 day service available in the Continental U.S. The cost of 3 day select delivery is higher than normal ground delivery. GROUND UP will ship all 3 day orders taken before 2:00 p.m. EST, Mon. thru Fri. the same day when the order is pre-paid on a credit card. There is no additional service fee. Your order will usually leave GROUND UP Inc warehouse within 24 hours pending stock availability. Some products are charged at dimensional weight as opposed to actual weight. Contact our sales department for actual shipping rates. 3 day select orders must be placed over the phone. 3 day shipping does not guarantee the products will arrive on-time. GROUND UP Inc is not responsible for products that are lost or damaged due to carrier mishandling. See general information regarding returns associated with damaged or lost deliveries.

2 Day Air Delivery

GROUND UP offers 2 day delivery available in the Continental U.S., Hawaii, and Alaska. The cost of 2 day delivery is more expensive than normal ground delivery. GROUND UP will ship all 2 day orders taken before 2:00 p.m. EST, Mon. thru Fri. the same day when the order is pre-paid on a credit card. You will receive your order within 2 working days from the time the order is shipped (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays), pending stock availability. Some products are charged at dimensional weight as opposed to actual weight. Contact the sales office for actual shipping rates. 2 day shipping does not guarantee the products will arrive on-time. GROUND UP Inc is not responsible for products that are lost or damaged due to carrier mishandling. See general information regarding returns associated with damaged or lost deliveries.

Overnight Delivery

GROUND UP offers next day delivery with the same qualifications as 2nd day air delivery. The cost is approx. one to two times greater than 2nd day delivery. Pre-payment on credit card is required before shipment can be sent. Simply call in your order before 2:00 p.m. EST, Mon. thru Fri. during regular business hours and your order will arrive the following working day (pending availability). Call your sales rep. for rates regarding overnight delivery. Rates depend on the items being ordered, the weight, etc. Some products are charged at dimensional weight as opposed to actual weight. Contact our sales department for actual shipping rates.

COD Orders

GROUND UP does not accept COD orders.

Discounting

GROUND UP is proud to offer you several ways to save money. These offers do not apply to kit items, sale items, specially priced items, or any items marked "Part eligible for free shipping: NO or Part eligible for discounting: NO. This offer only applies to items that are in stock at the time of ordering. GROUND UP reserves the right to exclude items for discounting even though they may not be noted as "No Volume Discount" in this online catalog. Discounts (including team discounts) cannot be combined. Discounting will be reflected on your final invoice after your order has shipped.
