His Dad offered the 1969 Camaro to his oldest son for a birthday present. Keith stepped up and said NOT THIS TIME! He was not going to let a second Camaro escape his grasp. So, he ended up with this one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He has been working on it since he acquired it. It had a three-speed stick and a mild 327 cu in motor that was worn out. He replaced the three-speed with a 700-R4 and a 3,000 rpm converter and rebuilt the motor to be more than respectable in power. When on the Dyno it says it makes 400 HP. 4.10 rear end posi. Currently, he’s working on the interior. It has taken him so long to finish this car that the dream is difficult to keep in sight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The engine has forged pistons @ 9.5 to 1 compression. 1.5 roller rockers, Comp Cam\u2019s bump stick, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, Doug\u2019s Headers, Electronic ignition A6, Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, and a Quadra-Jet Carb. The carb bears the Edelbrock name and as expected performs amazingly well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 700-R4 Trans and converter are a product of \u201cBowTie Overdrives\u201d located out in the Victor Valley. They did a very clean install.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He likes to think that everything about the 1969 Camaro car is special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The future plans are to drive the daylights out of this car. It is set up to be a daily driver. Nice enough to participate in a show or two, but with enough dings to not have to worry if he gets another at the grocery store.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
