He began his frame-off restoration in 2012 and finished the project in 2020. The goal was to restomod the car into the 1970 Chevelle of his dreams; he\u2019s had a soft spot for Chevelles ever since he was a kid, when his father used to have a \u201969 Chevelle that Glenn would \u201chelp\u201d him work on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That mindset was taken to the next level for the restoration, as Glenn would take on the project entirely on his own. He purchased a welder and taught himself how to weld, replacing all of the sheet metal on the 1970 Chevelle except for the roof. He even removed the body from the frame on his own, doing everything in his garage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Glenn\u2019s Chevelle currently has a 454 big block with a Weiand<\/a> tunnel ram intake, and dual 600cfm Holley<\/a> carburetors sitting on top. Inside the engine are a Crane Magnum cam and roller rockers, while the transmission has been upgraded to a TCI Streetfighter TH350 that also has a Hughes 3000 RPM stall converter. Eventually he wants to get this over to a dyno to see what kind of numbers she is putting down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
