Barry had his work cut out for him, all of the window surrounds were rusted, which led to the cabin floors being ruined. It was just a rust bucket overall, but he was determined to bring it back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He chose to restore it to \u201cold school\u201d specifications, sourcing a big block 454 with a mild cam installed making about 425 horsepower. The transmission selected is a TH350 with a 2200 RPM stall converter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A unique touch he chose to incorporate was the 1966 SS trim, as the El Camino did not receive any of the SS package extras in \u201966 aside from the 396 V fender emblems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
