{"id":27706,"date":"2020-09-10T16:55:15","date_gmt":"2020-09-10T20:55:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ss396.com\/cars\/?p=27706"},"modified":"2021-02-22T12:44:56","modified_gmt":"2021-02-22T17:44:56","slug":"tom-cs-1982-el-camino","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ss396.com\/cars\/tom-cs-1982-el-camino\/","title":{"rendered":"Tom C\u2019s 1982 El Camino"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tom C got this 1982 El Camino that the previous owner set up for racing just two weeks prior. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It came equipped with a\u00a0350\/425 HP crate motor, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ss396.com\/category\/elcamino-holley.html\" class=\"rank-math-link\">Holley<\/a> 850 double pumper carburetor, headers, and a TH400 automatic transmission with a shift kit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keeping this power to the ground are\u00a010\/15\u201d M\/T slicks 5\u201d\/15\u201d front tires on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ss396.com\/category\/elcamino-americanracing.html\" class=\"rank-math-link\">American Racing<\/a> Wheels and for an added kick going down the track sits a\u00a0brand new NOS system. While all these things are great to have on the track, Tom is not interested in racing in the slightest. Tom says;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cI just want to get this 1982 El Camino back in shape and use it as a regular driver for car shows and swap meets.\u201d<\/p><cite>&#8211; Tom C<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tom notes that the frame and body are in great shape and the interior has been freshly redone. It needs some new paint which Tom is currently trying to match.&nbsp;The dash was completely disconnected when he purchased it and Tom is currently working on restoring all the gauges and the dash back to its original styling. All-in-all the car looks and drives great!
