1982 Monte Carlo Parts and Restoration Specifications

1982 Monte Carlo Specifications

1982_Monte_Carlo-1024x485

The 1982 Monte Carlo only underwent mild revisions mostly in the engine department. The Turbo Buick 231 cubic inch engine (along with the Turbo Monte Carlo model) was discontinued. New were two diesel engines: a 260 cubic inch Oldsmobile V6 along with a  350 cubic inch Oldsmobile V8.

The grille was newly textured and low drag front disc brakes were standard. This was the first year of the 100,000 mile plus odometer and the wiper/washer controls were now mounted on the turn signal switch. The bucket seat option was dropped.

New across all GM lines as the new GM G-Body designation. All mid-sized cars were now designated as A-bodies while all of the previous A-bodies (Monte Carlo, Malibu, El Camino, Cutlass, Regal, Grand Prix) were now designated as G-bodies.

For the first time in Monte Carlo history, a black paint job was not offered. However a sportier CL custom interior option with Strato buckets and console was available. The Landau trim was also no longer available.
